Topographical Survey Division
Topographical survey, also known as a ‘Land Survey’ measure and identifies the location of natural and man-made features of a particular land/area and its terrain. It provides a detailed and accurate feature information represented on the surface of the earth.
Topographical survey Division (TSD) is mainly mandated to carry out the topographical surveys and create base map of the country. The division is also responsible to maintain and provide reliable geodetic network services. With emerging technologies in surveying and mapping, the Division is committed to effectively and efficiently deliver the surveying works to the highest possible quality standards.
Mandates
- Create and update topographical base map
- Enhance geodetic network infrastructure
- Conduct Topographical and geophysical surveys
- Carry out calibration of surveying instruments
- Leverage on state-of-the-art technology in surveying and mapping
Functions
- Define and maintain National Coordinate System
- Establish Horizontal and Vertical datum
- Provide Geodetic control points
- Conduct medium and large-scale topographical surveys
- Carry out Photogrammetry and Remote sensing work
- Maintain inventory and carry out calibration of surveying instruments
- Carry out drone surveys
- Provide technical backstopping to International boundary
- Facilitate topographical and geophysical survey on demand (Paid) basis
