National Land Commission

      Mandates of National Land Commission Secretariat (As per Land Act 2007 & OD report):
  • Implement policies, programs, regulations and guidelines issued by the Commission for administering the provisions of the Land Act 2007.
  •  Serve as the parent organization for all the agencies responsible for land registration and cadastral survey
  • Be responsible for custody, compilation and maintenance of Chhazhag Sathrams
  • Conduct land cadastre and be the technical agency on cadastral technology in the country
  • Verify and resolve land disputes resulting from boundary and Thrams
  • Process private land acquisition for national interests and provide land substitutes and Compensation
  • Facilitate the Local Authority in carrying out their functions according to the provisions of the Land Act
  • Prescribe formats and rules pursuant to the Land Act and amend them as and when deemed necessary
  •  Maintain international boundaries
  •  Manage National Rehabilitation Program
  • Carry out topographic surveys
  • Carry out geodetic and geophysical surveys
  • Manage national geospatial data repository
  • Establish land surveying, mapping and spatial data standards and policies
  • Coordinate National Spatial Data Infrastructure Development and dissemination of geospatial information
  • Coordinate preparation of macro level land use plans
  • Regulate and monitor land use
  • Maintain inventory of alienable and disposable land.
